What's Envision Evanston 2045? It's a yearlong, community-driven process that will lead to a new comprehensive plan and zoning code to guide our community's growth and future policies and investments. From land use to racial justice to affordable housing, this initiative aims to reflect a shared vision for the future of Evanston.

City government to relocate to 909 Davis St.
City Council on Monday voted to approve downtown office rental for city government staff and public services, temporarily relocating from the Morton Civic Center to 909 Davis St. The move was deemed crucial due to outdated infrastructure and lack of accessibility at the Morton Civic Center, dating back to 1901. A community engagement process will follow to determine a long-term solution.

Injured Doe in Perkins Woods: Leave Her Be, She'll Heal Naturally 🦌
The Evanston Police Department has received many calls about a doe with an injured leg who lives in Perkins Woods. Animal Warden Kubala has responded a few times to assess the situation. At this time, the best thing to do is to leave the doe alone. Deer are incredibly resilient animals and while it may take some time, her injury will heal on its own. In the meantime, she is still mobile with access to the resources she needs to thrive.
Fun Facts about White-Tailed Deer
- They are the state mammals of Illinois and the largest native herbivores in the state, integral to the Illinois landscape.
- Some can jump as high as 8 ft. and soar as far as 30 ft. vertically.
- In the spring, bucks shed their antlers and regrow up to ¼ in. a day.
- Deer are very good swimmers.
Animal Warden Kubala can be reached directly at 847-866-5031.
