MLK Day of Celebration At Fleetwood-Jourdain Center Brought The Community Together!
The beautiful melting pot of attendees and presenters celebrating the legacy of Dr. King, and all those who were committed to taking the time to do what was right for humanity, was on full display Saturday. The return of this annual event to Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center was yet another reason to raise our hands in celebration.
Flowers to MC Matthew Hunter, Mayor Daniel Biss, Ald. Bobby Burns, Evanston Children's Choir, Grace Puricelli, Faith Temple Combined Choir, Ted Williams III and the 1619 crew, MC4, and Pastor Carlis Moody, Jr. Every group and individual brought exceptional joy and purpose to this event.
Finally, a special bouquet of flowers to Marchelle "Shelly" Bonner, Program Coordinator at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and the entire amazing FJCC staff. The young workers on Saturday were looking sharp, attentive to details, and extended a welcoming hand to all in attendance. FJCC Rocks!
