Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the National Day of Service? If you're looking for a meaningful community service opportunity to make change and give back, check out the Evanston Public Library.
Join us in the Community Meeting Room, Main Branch from 10am-1pm (to register for the 2pm-5pm session, click here) to help create reusable sanitary pads for the Girls 4 Girls Ghana organization. More than 20% of girls in Ghana miss school due to lack of supplies for menstrual cycles. All materials will be provided, including scissors and sewing equipment. There are a lot of jobs for everyone, but sewers are also strongly encouraged to attend! Feel free to bring your own sewing machine. For grades 5th-12th and adults.
Not in this age group? There are still other fun activities to get involved! Kids in 1st-4th grade can head over to the Children's Art Garden. Check out the morning or the afternoon session!
If you can't make it, no worries, we welcome people to stop by and show their care with donations of underwear and sanitary napkins. Donations are welcomed from now till MLK Day.

Love anime and manga? Join us at Robert Crown for Anime Club. We will watch anime, argue about what show is the best, and eat delicious and sometimes weird Japanese snacks. Each month we will also feature an Anime themed project, such as making buttons from old manga or designing a vinyl sticker. Grades 6-12.
Dungeons and Dragons!

Join us for in-person sessions of Dungeons and Dragons! Character building will be for the first hour, from 12-1pm. Gameplay will be from 1-3:30pm.These are beginner-friendly sessions, so if you're new to D&D, please join us! If you're not new, please come all the same! Grades 6-12.

Need help practicing another language? Join us for language conversation practice and intercultural exchange! We will pair you up with someone who wants to learn your native language and you can help each other! The more people who come, the more language learning we can support!
Attention Middle Schoolers: The Cardboard Carnival is Coming to Town! The rules are simple, design a carnival style game using cardboard and other everyday materials. You must also include one motorized element. Starting February 1st, register and visit EPL to pick up your Cardboard Carnival kit. The Cardboard Carnival is made possible by the Project Next Generation Grant from the Illinois State Library.
