9th Ward News
November was a busy month at the Civic Center and we are getting closer to finalizing the 2024 City of Evanston budget. I appreciate the feedback I heard from residents at the joint 3rd, 4th, and 9th Ward Budget Meeting and the Spanish-language Budget Town Hall. A major concern for myself is preserving affordability for 9th Ward residents. Rising costs have also affected the cost of doing business at the city level and city employees have received long awaited raises that put Evanston municipal salaries more in line with other nearby communities. There has been significant progress in working toward eliminating the need for a property tax increase.
Please join me on Wednesday, December 20, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., for a virtual 9th ward via Google Meet.

Parks and Recreation staff will be highlighting our Reduced Water Rate program and Access Evanston discount program for seniors. The City has programs to help residents with affordability and I want to make sure that all residents are aware of and take advantage of them if they qualify. We will also get a safety report from EPD.
As always, my meeting notes with some comments and the record of my votes are available online.
