Evanston Police Conduct Liquor Compliance Checks
EVANSTON, IL - On November 27, 2023, the Evanston Police Department, in cooperation with the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, conducted 12 liquor compliance checks at Evanston businesses.
Evanston police and the Liquor Control Commission carried out the operation using underage volunteers. The volunteers would attempt to buy alcohol at local liquor stores, bars, and restaurants to check for compliance with state law and local ordinances prohibiting the sale of alcohol to people under 21.
Liquor compliance checks were conducted at the following businesses:
- The Peckish Pig
- Walgreens on Chicago Ave.
- Union Pizzeria
- Firehouse Grill
- Evanston 1st Liquors
- Prairie Moon
- Reza's
- Whole Foods on Chicago Ave.
- Mas Salud
- Chili's
- Bat 17
- Double Clutch
None of the businesses sold to the underage volunteers and passed their checks. The businesses' 100 percent compliance is great news for the Evanston community, and the Evanston Police Department commends their diligence.
