Good afternoon,
Read below for information about Shop Small Saturday, upcoming holiday events and celebrations, friendly reminders, and more!
Shop Small. Shop Local. Shop Evanston!
Get a jump start on your holiday shopping with great deals and unique gifts from local Evanston businesses on Small Business Saturday (Nov. 25).
Enjoy free parking for the holidays: We're making local shopping easier this year by offering a “Holiday Parking: Free for 2023” promotion. Visitors to our business districts can enjoy up to two hours of free street parking daily through January 1, 2024. Simply enter the code "Holiday2023" while using the Park Evanston app.
Shop the Evanston Made Holiday Market: Located at 1631 Chicago Ave., the Holiday Market returns for its third year. Stop by from December 1-17 to shop for original art, jewelry, wearables, and more from local artists.
Celebrate the holiday season in Evanston
Get in the holiday spirit with events and celebrations for the whole family.
Flip the switch: Bring your family downtown to Fountain Square to catch the annual Holiday Light Celebration with Mayor Biss and other special visitors on Sat., Dec. 2, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy holiday performances, then head to The Merion to take photos with Santa!
Savor the sounds of the season: Head to ETHS on Sun., Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. to enjoy the award-winning Evanston Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Concert, with additional performances from local performing arts groups. Plus, there will be a visit from Santa and his elves.
Say bye to burned out bulbs
As we bring out the holiday décor each year, we inevitably find that some of our string lights have burned out. Instead of throwing them away, why not recycle? Starting Thurs., Dec. 1, you can drop off holiday string lighting for recycling at the Evanston Ecology Center, Levy Senior Center, and Robert Crown Community Center. Note: no garlands, live greens, or wreaths.
Heads up, pet parents - it's time to register!
As a reminder, 2024 Pet Registration is due December 30. Registering your fur baby not only boosts the chances of a happy reunion if it becomes lost but also doubles as a reminder to renew its annual rabies vaccination.
