CTA Announces Night Track Renewal Work Along Purple Line from November 20 to December 16

The CTA has announced night track renewal work along the CTA Purple Line, which will occur between the Davis and Foster Stations, with the majority of the work taking place near Clark Street. The work is scheduled to be carried out between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on two to three nights per week, starting on Monday, November 20, and concluding on December 16.

The scheduling of the work is intended to minimize the impact on transit riders and prevent service interruptions. Noise is expected to be generated by power tools, personnel in the area, rocks being crushed, horns from flaggers, and rail-bound equipment. While the work may cause some inconveniences, efforts will be made to keep them to a minimum.
