2023 Cook County Board of Review (BOR) Property Tax Appeals Accepted Through November 3
EVANSTON, IL - Evanston property owners concerned about their property taxes can submit an appeal to the Cook County Board of Review (BOR) through November 3, 2023.
Property owners may file an appeal on their own online at cookcountyboardofreview.com. Filing online is a simple and quick process that should take no more than 20 minutes. It is not necessary to submit comparable properties with your appeal.
Please note, an appeal will be automatically filed with the BOR by November 2 for homeowners who have already submitted an Appeal Authorization Form and have received an email notification. An email confirmation will be emailed directly from the BOR after the appeal is filed.
Property owners seeking assistance filing an appeal should submit an Appeal Authorization form by November 1 to have their appeal filed on their behalf. For questions, assistance, or to schedule an appointment, email mgibbs@cityofevanston.org.
It is highly recommended that property owners file their appeals online or complete an electronic appeal authorization form in lieu of in-person visits, which are by appointment only at this time.
As a reminder, Cook County tax bills always arrive one year late. Property owners should note that the money-saving effects of successful 2023 appeals will not appear on tax bills until the summer or fall of 2024.
