 Your guide to a spooktacular weekend
Halloween is just days away! Official Evanston trick-or-treat hours are on Mon., Oct. 31, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can also enjoy trick-or-treating in Downtown Evanston and along the Main-Dempster Mile this Saturday. Don't miss out on these other fun Halloween events hosted by the City:

City vehicles will be dressed up in Halloween costumes at this year's Trunk or Treat event on Fri., Oct. 27, at the Robert Crown Center parking lot. Enjoy face painting, music, and treats for all!

Bring the family out for a scary-good time at Nightmare on Foster St. Enjoy spooky, candy-filled fun at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center on Fri., Oct. 27, beginning at 7 p.m. Don't forget to wear your costume.

Join the Ecology Center for their annual Halloween event, Bug-a-Boo, on Sat., Oct. 28. Learn about local creatures, meet costumed characters, enjoy s’mores, play games, and more. RSVP today.

Help select Evanston recycling truck art
In honor of America Recycles Day on November 15, the City and District 65 invited Evanston middle schoolers to submit original artwork illustrating the importance of keeping plastic film out of recycling carts. Check out the submitted designs and vote for your favorite by October 30! The winning design will adorn a City recycling truck.

Help shape the future of our community centers: Share your thoughts about the future of the Gibbs Morrison and Fleetwood-Jourdain Centers. Participating in these surveys could lead to capital improvements, renovations, and new programming.
Share your honest feedback with EPD: The Evanston Police Department has extended its community survey to collect valuable community insights on the department. Participate in the brief survey.
 Reminder: Additional fall street cleaning
Additional fall street cleaning dates are planned for residential streets in November and early December to clear debris before winter. Signage will be posted and parking restrictions will be enforced.

Catch the final production of Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre's 2023 season, "This Bitter Earth" by Harrison David Rivers. In this production, deep love faces political division as a Black playwright confronts his political apathy when his white boyfriend, a Black Lives Matter activist, challenges him. They must navigate race, class, and the courage to love out loud.
Performances: Shows will take place on Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. from October 28 to November 12. Purchase tickets today!

Provide feedback on the City's Proposed Budget
Interested in learning about and providing feedback on the City’s FY 2024 Proposed Budget? Attend a budget town hall meeting. The Spanish Town Hall is tonight, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. in Room 2404 of the Morton Civic Center. The English Town Hall is on Thurs., Nov. 2, at the Levy Senior Center.
Income-restricted apartments are available
The City's Inclusionary Housing program offers access to affordable apartments in new developments at a wide income range, from $37,891 to $88,300. One and two-bedroom units are currently available for households earning between $47,280 and $88,250. To apply, please submit a pre-application or call CPAH at 847-263-7478, extension 28.
Don't forget to compost your pumpkins!
Rescue your Halloween pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns from withering on the front porch or ending up in the landfill by participating in the City's annual “It's the Great Pumpkin Compost” collection event on Sat., Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the parking lot of the Morton Civic Center.
The Evanston MashUp is just around the corner
This unique event provides an opportunity for the civic community to come together to make connections and enjoy local fare. Purchase your ticket today to join the Evanston Chamber of Commerce on Wed., Nov. 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Autobarn.
Pace's Pulse Dempster Line is expanding its service
Starting on October 29, the Pulse Dempster Line will operate daily, with faster, limited-stop services running every 15 minutes for most of the day.
Survey reveals support for reparations program
A survey conducted by Northwestern's Center for the Study of Diversity and Democracy revealed that the City's historic reparations program garners widespread approval and support across every ethnic and racial demographic group within the city and across all nine wards. Learn more.

The video highlights their efforts in building bridges throughout the community through collaboration and engagement.
