Attend Super Senior Day on October 27
Super Senior Day is coming to the Levy Senior Center on Friday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Secretary of State's mobile unit will be providing services such as vision testing, renewal of state ID, and driver's licenses.
Enjoy a special event: Nightmare on Foster St.
Bring the entire family out for spooky, scary, candy-filled fun at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Join in on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Wear your costumes and join us for a horrifying night on Foster St.
Fall Fest at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market
Kick off Halloween this weekend at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market on October 28. Bring your family and dress in costumes! The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Spud Club in the center of the market. The first 100 kids will receive trick-or-treat bags with goodies inside. There will also be small pumpkins to decorate, crafts, games and a photo booth for family pictures.
Bug-A-Boo: Non-Scary Halloween Walk
Join the Ecology Center for their annual Halloween event tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 28! Journey through the nature classroom and Ladd Arboretum, as you meet animals (live animals and costumed characters) along the way. At the end of your walk, all are invited to enjoy s’mores, play games, dance to some festive music, and take home a Halloween craft. Please register all attending family members. Artist Talk at Noyes Cultural Arts Center
Come out to the Noyes Cultural Art Gallery on Saturday, Nov. 4, at noon to hear talk from the local Evanston Artists of 'Charcoal, Tower,and Lightness'
Preschool Open Gymnastics
Head to the Chandler-Newberger Community Center to climb, tumble and play at Preschool Open Gymnastics on Fridays from 10:15 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. This class is available for drop-in, at $10 per class for residents and $13 per class for non-residents. Refresh your art collection at the Art Swap
The Noyes Gallery, in partnership with Evanston Made, is hosting an Art Swap on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free, but you must pre-register. For more information, contact Angela Allyn at 847-448-8263.
The Old Lady Project at Noyes Cultural Arts
Come to the Noyes Cultural Arts Center for The Old Lady Project on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. when some of Chicago's finest are presenting a staged reading of a comedy. Buy your tickets today.
Wild Weekends
Bats, snakes, spiders, and...skunks, oh my! During the Halloween season, some amazing and beneficial animals get a bad rap. The Ecology Center will be partnering with a wildlife education organization to meet bats and other misunderstood creatures and learn why it’s important to protect them. Come meet bats, snakes, spiders, and more. You may even get the chance to pet a skunk! To register, please call the Ecology Center at 847-448-8256 or enroll online. Children must be accompanied with a registered adult.
Enjoy Dia De Los Muertos at the Levy Center
Celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the Levy Senior Center on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event features a performance from the Mariachi Sirenas, Chicago's very own all-women mariachi group with charismatic personalities and a love for la música regional mexicana. We will also have several art stations. Admission is free. Thank you to our event sponsor, First Northern Credit Union for their support.

Children's Theatre Presents "13 The Musical!"
Tickets are on sale now for the Evanston Children's Theatre production of "13 the Musical" at the Levy Senior Center. The show will run from Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19. There will be four total performances by two different casts. Buy your tickets today.

Seniors, walk right in!
The Secretary of State's Office has opened a new, walk-in "Senior Only" DMV service temporarily housed in Room G300 of the Morton Civic Center. Seniors will not need appointments, as this walk-in center is specifically designed to meet their needs including Real ID, behind the wheel driving test, and renewals of State ID as well as drivers license.
Light The Night
The City’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking proposals for solar- and battery-powered, artistic light "installations" to be displayed in Tallmadge Park on January 27. Artists will receive a $150 check for supplies after the event.
