City Invites Public Comment on Draft PRO Housing Grant Application
EVANSTON, IL - The City’s Draft PRO Housing Grant Application is now open for public comment. This crucial phase of the process encourages all Evanston community members and stakeholders to have their voices heard concerning potential affordable housing initiatives.
The Consolidated Appropriations Act has allocated a substantial $85 million for competitive grant funding aimed at identifying and eliminating barriers to affordable housing production and preservation. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has initiated a competitive process leading to the release of the Notice of Funding Opportunity, known as "Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing" (PRO Housing). HUD will accept applications for PRO Housing Grant funding until October 30, 2023.
