Community Campfires - Nature At Night
Next stop, Independence Park! Join the Ecology Center tonight for a Community Campfire from 6:30-8pm. Spend your evenings this fall season building community with friends, family, and neighbors around a cozy campfire that will move from park to park! Enjoy exploring our parks at night, as we learn about nature in the neighborhood and roast marshmallows. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Noyes Spoken Word Open Mic
Bring your words, poems, lyrics, pieces of memoirs and novels to Word Salad at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center on Fri., Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to all ages.
Scarecrows and Pumpkin Patch and Apple Cider. OH MY!
Come celebrate the joys of the fall season tomorrow at Eggleston Park during our fall Harvest Festival! Enjoy a free pumpkin patch, fall-themed games and crafts, a scarecrow-making contest, live music, and more! Then go on tours of the Farmette, bee apiary, and Food Forest. All activities are free. School Day Off Open Gymnastics at Chandler
Does your child have a day off and you want to come to open gymnastics at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center. There is not an instructional class. Register is required.
Saplings & Oaks
Join Saplings & Oaks, a class where children and caregivers learn about the natural world together! Through exploring the Lighthouse Beach habitats, reading nature-themed stories, making art, and imaginative play, children and caregivers will learn about the wonders of fall. Do you participate in the Access Evanston Program?
If so, you qualify for a lower water and sewer rate! Income-qualified residents can access reduced water and sewer rates. Enroll by providing your recent W-2 and lease (for renters) at participating community centers.
Evanston Nature Play Group
The Evanston Ecology Center has a new nature play program for children ages 1-4! The Forest School model makes every day of learning an adventure. Outdoor programs allow children to learn at their natural levels of energy and enthusiasm. At least one adult must attend per family. Pies for Parks
Come get to know the Evanston Parks Foundation on October 14, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Walk through the Noyes Cultural Arts Center to see all of the pie contest entries or head outside to play at Talmadge Park. We will have booths with craft projects, sensory play, and games. Enter a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Evanston Parks Foundation's efforts to make parks and programs more accessible to all residents. Free to attend, $25 to enter pie!
Fleetwood-Jourdain Presents "Family Sneaker Ball"
Your presence has been formally requested. Dress to impress this fall at the Family Sneaker Ball! On Sun., Oct. 15, bring out your finest clothes and your most comfortable sneakers. Dance the night away with your family and create special memories. Register in advance.
Zombie Scramble-Sign up before it's too late!
The Zombie Scramble is back on October 21! Join your family and friends to complete a 2-mile course through the Ladd Arboretum, Butler Park, and Twiggs Park, as you try to avoid roaming "zombies." The event is for ages 8 years and up. To register, cityofevanston.org/register.

Bring the entire family out for spooky, scary, candy-filled fun at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Join in on Fri., Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. Wear your costumes and join us for a horrifying night on Foster St.

Come celebrate the Halloween season with the City's Parks and Recreation Department. We're seeking businesses and organizations with unique and decorated vehicles to provide treats, games, and fun for children of all ages. Sign up today by scanning the QR code or by following this link.
Frets Away Music Classes
Learn to sing and play Guitar, Ukulele, or gather for Sing & Play. Detailed handouts and hands-on, folkstyle classes teach basic music theory, rhythm, and instrument-specific skills as well as chart-reading, singing, and ensemble playing. Students must bring their own instruments, acoustic preferred. Register today.
Dia De Los Muertos at Levy Senior Center
The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host the final Starlight Concert of the 2023 season. This event features the musical group, Mariachi Sirenas! Come out to the Levy Senior Center on November 5 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos! Before the Mariachi Sirenas performance, there will be arts and crafts projects such as a DIY shoebox ofrenda.
