Call for Nominations: Mayor's Awards for the Arts
Awards will be presented at "A Bright Night for the Arts" on November 15
 EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston Arts Council is seeking nominations for the 45th annual Mayor's Awards for the Arts, which recognizes and honors artists or arts organizations who have made significant contributions to the arts in Evanston. The awards were established in 1979 by former Mayor Jay Lytle. Previous awardees can be found at evanstonarts.org.
Nomination Information
Community members are encouraged to nominate an Evanston artist or arts organization by completing the 2023 Mayor’s Awards for the Arts Nomination Form by Friday, October 20, at noon. Included in the submission should be the artist or organization’s name and a persuasive statement of up to 500 words on why they are deserving of an award.
"A Bright Night for the Arts" Details
The winners of the Mayor's Awards for the Arts will be celebrated during the “A Bright Night for the Arts”, scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, at 6 p.m., at Theo Ubique Cabaret Theater, 721 Howard St. Hosted by Mayor Daniel Biss, this celebration is free and open to the community. Due to capacity limitations, reservations are required. Community members must RSVP to attend.
The City looks forward to receiving nominations and celebrating the artists and organizations that help shape Evanston through the arts.
