What Does 150 Years of Service Look Like?

We're all in, and we have been for 150 years! 

Since 1893, the Evanston Public Library has provided access to valuable ideas and resources. We are constantly seeking ways to achieve more equitable access. In recent years this has included:

• Growing Resources: From books to computers to bridging the digital divide.
• Identifying New Opportunities: Diverse collection and programs representing previously unheard voices.
• Removing Barriers: Gathering where people gather - inside and outside the walls of the Library.

Your support makes it happen

Donations support programs and services that build diversity and access, such as computer classes in Spanish, the Human Library (volunteers pictured at left), and the continued development of our diverse collection.

Special campaign coming to an end but not there yet!

This summer, we've had a special 150th Anniversary campaign to raise $150,000 to support EPL's most critical programs. This campaign ends September 15. We still need $15,000 to make our goal.  Any gift made on our website, in person at the Library, or mailed and postmarked by September 15 will be included as part of this special campaign. Your gift supports what EPL is today, so that we can grow together for the future. Together we will sustain the Library's important work.

For 150 years, the Library has provided educational, culturally-rich resources for all residents, helped children prepare for school through the joys of reading and learning, celebrated Evanston’s diversity, and helped residents find information they seek.
