Community and Connection

My name is Cherie Asante (I'm the one pictured in the middle), and I am the Volunteer Coordinator for the Evanston Public Library. These two words--community and connection-- are very important to me. Working and being together, there is so much we can do in our community!

This work -- and my role -- adds value to our community. I encourage you to support EPL's community service by making a gift to the Library today. Together we will sustain the Library's important work.

Thank you!

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

On September 8-10, the Evanston Partners for the Public Library (PEPL) are hosting their first Read-a-thon. Library lovers from across Evanston are invited to participate by signing up for a timeslot to read books across Evanston on this weekend. Everyone can participate!  Learn more here

EPL is commemorating the Sept 11th anniversary with a volunteer service project to benefit Bundled Blessings. On Monday, September 11, volunteers will be putting together 150 diaper bags for families, including free children's books to build their own home library. If you're interested in joining, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Cherie Asante at casante@cityofevanston.org by Sunday, September 10.

Support community service at EPL today!

Join us in our goal to raise $150,000. Help us mark our 150th anniversary with continued growth of the Library’s programs and services most valued by this community.

This campaign is ending soon, but there's still time to help. Any gift made on our website, in person at the Library, or mailed and postmarked by September 15 will be included as part of this special campaign.

Together we are the Library!

For 150 years, the Library has provided educational, culturally-rich resources for all residents, helped children prepare for school through the joys of reading and learning, celebrated Evanston’s diversity, and helped residents find information they seek. The Library is more than a building of books; it is a place to meet, connect, learn, and explore. To learn more, visit www.epl.org.
