 End-of-season schedule for Evanston beaches
With the return of seasonal lifeguards and beach staff to school, the City has adjusted end-of-season beach operations to ensure proper staffing for public safety.
Beginning Monday, Clark Street Beach will be the only beach open to swimming for the remainder of the season during the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Aug. 14 - 31) and 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Sep. 1 - 4).
 Emergency overdose boxes installed
The City has taken action to help prevent opioid-related emergencies by installing five emergency overdose boxes in accessible spots throughout Evanston. Each box contains two Naloxone doses, a life-saving medication that counters opioid overdoses, and instructions for use. Learn more.
Why It Matters: While Evanston is not currently facing an opioid epidemic, there have been 174 ER visits due to opioid overdoses since January 2022.
Remember: In an emergency, dial 911. Use the Naloxone kit, following provided instructions, and stay with the person until help arrives.
Reach Out: If you need help or info on opioid issues, the Illinois Helpline is available 24/7 at 833-234-6343. Find more information at helplineil.org.
Don't forget to pay your Wheel Tax 🚗
Evanston residents can now pay for their 2024 City of Evanston wheel tax, residential parking permits, and parking passes. Keep an eye out for mailed renewal notices containing online renewal IDs and instructions. Learn more.
