Lee Street Beach Starlight Movie Tonight
The weather is looking good and tonight's movie showing of The Bad Guys at Lee St Beach will begin at 6 p.m. The movie is free to attend, but you will need a season or daily pass to access the beach!
Community First Friday Tonight at Mason Park
Stop by Mason Park tonight, Fri., Aug 4, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., for the City's First Friday event, as a part of the "My City, Your City, Our City" Initiative. Enjoy free food, movies, an obstacle course, games, and more!
Treasure Hunt
Join the Ecology Center this weekend for a pirate-themed nature scavenger hunt through the dunes! Dress in your best pirate-themed attire, as we work together to find the buried treasure. Join us for pirate activities and s’mores by the fire after you solve all of the clues. Pirate costumes are encouraged! An enrolled adult needs to accompany each child. Call the Ecology Center at 847-448-8256 or register online.
August Science with Seniors
Each month, graduate students from Northwestern University visit the Levy Senior Center to discuss different science topics. This month, they will be discussing the topics of Paleoclimatology on Thurs., Aug.10, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is required by calling the Levy front desk at 847-448-8250.
2023 Starlight Movies in the Park Series
Our Starlight Movies in the Park series will feature a variety of films for the entire family. All movies will begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted below. Movies will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and snacks.

Disco in the Park
Put on your boogie shoes and hustle on over to the Levy Senior Center on Fri., Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., for a night you won’t forget. Take a walk down memory lane and enjoy the best of 70’s music from our local DJ.
Family Garden Day
Tour the Ecology Center's Farmette and bee apiary as we learn how vegetables are grown and honey is produced! We will also try our hand at being farmers and harvest some fresh produce straight from the garden. Participants will then go on a Farmette and Food Forest scavenger hunt, as we learn to identify the plants that provide us food. Evanston Children's Theatre
Auditions for the 2023 fall production of "13, The Musical" will take place at the Levy Senior Center on Tues., Aug. 29 for the Tuesday cast and on Thurs., Aug. 31 for the Thursday Cast, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There is nothing to prepare. We are a no cut program. The audition is a workshop that simulates the rehearsal process with theatre games, movement exercises, singing and line reading. Every child who shows up and registers gets a part! There is a participation fee. Registration will open in late August.
The Tuesday cast rehearses on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Thursday cast rehearses on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Afterschool Adventures at Robert Crown
Sign up for the Fall 2023 Afterschool Adventures program at the Robert Crown Community Center for afterschool care from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Free Access to Fishing
Free Access to Fishing continues tomorrow at Lovelace Park! Join the Ecology Center staff for this popular, free program on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. Equipment, bait, and fishing advice will be provided but feel free to bring your own fishing equipment or bait and we will teach you how to use it. Children under the age of 16 don't need a fishing license but must be accompanied by an adult. For participants 16 yrs or older, Illinois fishing licenses can be purchased online.
