Update on Evanston Police Investigation Into Gun Threat at Camp

EVANSTON, IL - On Tuesday, July 11, the Evanston Parks and Recreation Department's administrative staff received information involving a camper threatening to bring a gun to camp. The Evanston Police Department was promptly notified and conducted an investigation following. The investigation determined that there is no credible threat. 

Restorative circles are scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, July 14, with campers and the City's youth outreach team to discuss the incident and provide an opportunity for all to repair harm. 

The City of Evanston takes all threats of violence seriously and would like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of alerting a trusted adult any time suspicious activity is observed or heard.
