Ridge Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements to Begin the Week of June 5
The City and Illinois Department of Transportation will be contracting traffic signal improvements at seven intersections along Ridge Avenue beginning the week of June 5. Work is expected to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.
Work will include pedestrian crossing improvements including adding audible signals, left turn signals, left turn lanes on Greenleaf Street, traffic signal phase changes along Ridge Avenue, and more.
Motorists should expect minor delays near work zones as flaggers route traffic around work crews. Two-way traffic will be maintained during traffic signal and sidewalk work. Attempts will be made to minimize inconveniences from construction activities for abutting residents. Construction zone daytime "No Parking" restrictions will be intermittent on cross streets for the duration of the project. Street sweeping/neighborhood parking restrictions will be waived for a one block radius around the construction zone when temporary daytime "No Parking" is in effect.
