 Minimum Wage Increase
On May 30, Cook County issued a notice to employees regarding the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO). The ordinance is going into effect on July 1, 2023, with the minimum wage increases to $13.70 for non-tipped workers an $8.00 for tipped workers. Mas Salud Open!
Mas Salud, located at 720 Clark St, is one of the newest restaurants to open in the downtown. The owner, Micheal Melnick wants to the restaurant to appeal to everyone.  City to Host Minority, Disadvantaged, and Women-Owned Business Contracting Fair
The City of Evanston’s Minority, Women, Disadvantaged and Evanston Businesses Enterprises Committee will launch their first Minority, Disadvantaged, and Women-Owned Business Contracting Fair on Tuesday, June 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fleetwood Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
The Fair is designed to expand awareness about contracting and procurement opportunities in Evanston for minority, women, disadvantaged, and Evanston business enterprises (MWDEBE). Large, Evanston-based businesses will be in attendance to educate about upcoming contracting opportunities.

 Sustain Evanston Program Launch!
In honor of Earth Day, the City launched its reimagined Sustain Evanston Business Incentive Program on Sat., April 22. The program provides a funding tool to assist small business and commercial property owners in implementing sustainability measures that align with the goals of the City's Climate Action & Resilience Plan (CARP).
Grants of up to $25,000 will support sustainability-related projects, including, but not limited to waste management, energy, water, and green infrastructure. Applications will be open through August 31. Apply today!
