Summer Camp Balances due May 3
Summer camp balances are due on Wed., May 3. Don't sweat it as there are options available. You can request a payment plan and don't forget there is fee assistance available to families. It is also the last date to transfer to a different camp or cancel a camp.
Earth Day Celebration at the Ecology Center
Celebrate Earth Day at the Ecology Center this Saturday, April 22 from 10 am to noon. The event is free and open to the public. Join us for fun with bubbles, a scavenger hunt, and learning with 20 local organizations!
City Nature Challenge
The City Nature Challenge is a friendly competition between cities to upload the most wildlife sightings to iNaturalist, an easy-to-use app that identifies wildlife for you! Join the challenge on April 29. Ecology Center staff will help you learn how to use iNaturalist on this fun, family-friendly hike through the Ladd Arboretum. We will work together to identify as many types of animals and plants as we can! To register for this program, please call the Ecology Center at 847-448-8256 or register online.
Beach Passes available now!
Evanston Beach Passes will be free for Evanston residents again this year! New for summer 2023, all beach patrons must present a season beach pass or daily ticket to enter the beach. IDs will not be accepted at beach entrances. Proof of residency for each person in a household is required to obtain a beach pass. No pass is required for children under the age of one. Yoga in the Park
Join Cyd from The Yoga Post for an hour of outdoor yoga at Elliot Park on Fridays, April 28 to May 9 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. All levels are welcome; bring your own yoga mat or towel. Register today!
The Aging Well Conference is back
This free, half-day conference on Fri., May 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for older persons and their care partners presents an array of educational workshops on topics including health and wellness, safety, nutrition, technology, legal issues, financial planning, and the arts.
The conference will open with registration and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a welcome from Mayor Daniel Biss, and a keynote address by Paula Basta, director for the Illinois Department on Aging. Conference transportation is available through the Levy Senior Center for individuals who live in Evanston. Register today as space is limited. For more information, please call 847-448-8250
Attendees are then invited to participate in two workshop sessions. Workshop pre-registration is required. The conference will conclude with lunch and a celebration of the Aging Well Award recipients.

Parents' Night Out at Chandler-Newberger
Calling all parents, you deserve a night out and so do your kids. Kids will have a blast engaging in crafts and activities. Sign up early as this event will sell out. Register online.
Join in on May 3 at 6 p.m. for popcorn, snacks, and a special screening of "Team Dream" followed by a Q & A and a red carpet meet and greet with the stars and their trainer, Derrick Milligan. Or, stay cozy at home and watch the event via Zoom.
In this short, award-winning documentary film, we meet close friends Ann Smith and Madeline Murphy Rabb in their final days of preparation for the 2022 National Senior Games. While they train, we learn about their lives growing up amid segregation and stigma before breaking boundaries in their adopted hometown, Chicago. These remarkable women show us we're never too old to dream!
Doors open for the event at 5:15 p.m. in Bobby's Room. Registration is required for this free event. In-person attendance is limited, so register now!
Save the Date: Fran Randall Concert at the Levy Senior Center
The Levy Senior Center Foundation is proud to bring the talents of young, award-winning classical musicians to the Levy Senior Center. The outstanding lineup continues to honor the memory of Fran Randall who loved classical music and played an important role in opening the current center. The concert will be on Friday, May 19 at 1:30 p.m.
