Evanston beaches are now more accessible to all!
Way to go Evanston Parks & Recreation staff for your hard work to make our beaches more accessible!
Earlier this year, the City purchased 1,000 feet of roll-out portable walkways called Mobi-Mats, intended to provide a path to Lake Michigan at each of the city’s six beaches for people in wheelchairs, people with strollers and those who find it difficult to walk through sand.
The City also purchased three beach wheelchairs with balloon-size tires that can be easily pushed to the water. The Evanston RoundTable has the story.
That’s it for today's e-news. Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
The City of Evanston Communications Team
