Support a new Evanston Animal Shelter
The Evanston City Council has approved construction of a new Evanston Animal Shelter!
Along with City funding, a grant from Cook County, and the Evanston Animal Shelter Association’s (EASA) capital campaign for private fundraising ($1.2 million goal), the new shelter is finally becoming a reality.
As part of the EASA's capital campaign, an anonymous donor has pledged $100,000 if the community can match their contribution on a one-to-one basis. Help them reach their goal by making a donation today!
How to donate:
-
Mail a check: Checks can be mailed to the Evanston Animal Shelter Association located at 2310 Oakton St., Evanston, IL, 60202
-
Online: One-time or recurring donations can be made online.

Investing in our region's water system
The City will soon begin a $47.2 million construction project to replace the oldest water intake at the Evanston Water Utility, helping to provide high-quality, safe and reliable drinking water to nearly 500,000 people in Evanston and surrounding communities.
Construction timeline: Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-March 2023 and continue to the end of 2024.
Community Workshop about Reuse and Recycling
Join the Circular Evanston Working Group on Sun., March 19, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rebuilding Exchange located at 1245 Hartrey Ave., for a conversation about how we can reduce our waste of the food, products, packaging, and still-useful products that we send to landfills. You'll also learn about how we increase our resilience through repair, reuse, and recirculation of resources in our community. This will be a fun and interactive experience. The purpose is to build ideas and action to reduce waste in Evanston. No expertise needed. Refreshments will be served. Childcare will be provided. Please register in advance to attend.
 Early voting begins Monday
Cast your ballot! Early Voting for the April 4 Consolidated Election will be held at the Morton Civic Center from Mon., March 20 through April 3.
