Who's on the ballot? This election includes races for Evanston 2nd and 9th Ward City Council seats, as well as District 65 and District 202 board members.
Coming soon: A new skate park!
City Council has approved construction of a new skate park at the east end of Twiggs Park (Ashland and Noyes). Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-April, with completion expected by December.
Shout out: Thank you to members of Evanston’s skate community, who worked with the City to develop a park design that meets the needs of skaters of every age and ability.
Giving our alleys an 'A' grade
The City’s Public Works Agency has announced its 2023 alley maintenance schedule. Starting in the spring every year, Evanston's more than 300 unpaved alleys are periodically graded by the City.
Why grade the alleys? This work is done to eliminate potholes and ruts caused by vehicles, weather and other factors.
Elevating our public spaces
Students from Mr. Michael Winfield's art class at Beacon Academy recently added new murals to the walls at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center! Painting is expected to be completed this Friday. Thank you to our young artists for brightening this community space.
