Spring Equinox Bonfire
Celebrate the first day of spring with a bonfire at Lighthouse Beach! We will participate in spring equinox traditions that incorporate nature and celebrate the return of longer days, flowers, birds, and the growing season. Youth Kendo at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center
Strengthen and sharpen your mental and physical skills in this Japanese style martial arts class! Join us at 7 p.m. on Fridays at the Fleetwood Jourdain Community Center. Call Fleetwood-Jourdain at 847-448-8254 to register for the class.
Young Artists Bring New Life to Gym Walls
Students from Mr. Michael Winfield's art class at Beacon Academy recently added new murals to the walls at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center! Painting is expected to be completed this Friday. Thank you to our young artists for brightening this community space.
Fleetwood-Jourdain Skate Party
If you missed the last one, you will not want to miss this! Join in for a Skate Party on Fri., March 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Family skate then switches to adult only skate from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Join us for concessions and great music. Make it a night to remember! There will be a $5 entry and skate rental fee.
Celebrate spring with Ecology Center After School Programs!
The Ecology Center is offering a variety of fun after school programs throughout Evanston this spring! From the Ecology Center, to Lighthouse Beach, to Harbert Park, the Farmette, and Right At School (10 weeks at Kingsley, Bessie Rhodes, Dawes, Dewey, and King Arts), there are many options to choose from. Levy Senior Center Pickleball Court Rentals
The Levy Center is holding open pickleball court rentals on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. with one hour time slots. Call the Levy front desk at 847-448-8250 to sign up and pay for your court rental today.
Arboretum Egg Hunt
Search through the Arboretum to see if you can find all of the hidden eggs! Please register all attending members of your group for this festive spring event by calling the Ecology Center at (847) 448-8256 or register online.
Fleetwood Jourdain Movers and Shakers Senior Fitness Class
Come out three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) to Movers and Shakers at 10 a.m. The drop in rate is $3 per class. Shake your body into shape with your friends in this low intensity fitness class.
Wildflower Camp (Ages 3-4)
Sign up for the Ecology Center's preschool summer camp! Sessions last two weeks and cover a variety of fun nature themes. To register for camp sessions, please call the Ecology Center at 847-448-8256 or register online.
Dog Egg Hunt
Put your dog’s nose to the test by letting them sniff out treat-filled plastic eggs. The egg hunt will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. at Evanston Dog Beach (between Clark St. Beach and the Clark St. Boat Launch). All dogs must remain on-leash for the entire event, be at least 4 months old, and have a current City Pet License and/or Cook County Rabies tag to participate. No retractable leashes are permitted and each dog must have an individual handler. The program fee is per dog. Register here!
Evanston Children's Theatre's Presents Camp Mystic
Get your tickets now for the Evanston Children's Theatre's Camp Mystic at the Levy Senior Center from Fri., March 24 through Sun., March 26. There will be four total performances by two different casts. Buy your tickets today!
Free Sample Levy Fitness Class
The Levy Senior Center Fitness instructor Sandy is offering a free blend fitness sample class that combines her Power-Up class and her Stretch & Restore Yoga class on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 a.m. at the Levy Senior Center. Champagne Brunch and Conversation
In Celebration of Women's History Month, the City and Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre will be hosting a Light Champagne Bruncheon and Conversation on Sun., March 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Noyes Cultural Arts Center. This is a free event but you must register by email or call Tim Rhoze at 847-866-5914 to sign up. Maximum of two tickets per reservation.
Noyes Spoken Word Open Mic
Bring your winter words, poems, lyrics, pieces of memoirs and novels to Word Salad at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center on Fri., March 31 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to all ages.
