18 Year-Old Woman Charged with Disorderly Conduct for False Kidnapping Report
 EVANSTON, IL - On January 23, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Evanston Police responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping. The reporter stated that two subjects attempted to kidnap her while she was walking to work in the 1200 block of Fowler Ave.
The Evanston Police Detective Bureau investigated. The investigation revealed circumstances that were not consistent with the reporter's account of what occurred. Detectives interviewed the reporter about these inconsistencies and the reporter admitted the kidnapping report was false.
The reporter, Tianna Young, was charged with Disorderly Conduct - transmits or causes to be transmitted in any manner a false report to any public safety agency without the reasonable grounds necessary to believe that transmitting the report is necessary for the safety and welfare of the public.
Young was released from the police station after posting bond.
