Thank you, thank you, thank you Evanston Public Library community! Because of your support, we not only met our 2022 fundraising goal, but exceeded it, raising over $415,000!

Happy New Year with book

These funds help make EPL’s budget whole, bridging the gap between the total cost of programming and the amount paid by taxes.

Even though Evanston Public Library is underfunded compared to neighboring libraries, your investment enables EPL to exist as a strong presence in our community.

We want to hear from you!

As we leap into 2023, the Library is celebrating a big milestone - our 150th anniversary! We’re taking this year to look back at the incredible impact the Evanston Public Library has had in this community and look forward to what might be possible during the next 150 years.

As we celebrate, we want to know why EPL is important to you. Fill out this form to share your stories and memories from the past 150 years. You can also send your stories to wshawver@cityofevanston.org or call us at

Are you or have you ever been a volunteer at EPL? Whether you served on the Board of Trustees, delivered books for Books on Wheels, helped with story times, or one of the many other ways to volunteer, tell us about it! Take 5 minutes and fill out this form sharing your experiences.

P.S. The Library welcomes your support all year long! If you missed making a gift during our Reimagine Campaign, there’s still time to make a difference when you make a one-time donation, or set up a monthly recurring donation online.

Yes I want to give!

Together we are the Library!

For 150 years, the Library has provided educational, culturally-rich resources for all residents, helped children prepare for school through the joys of reading and learning, celebrated Evanston’s diversity, and helped residents find information they seek. The Library is more than a building of books; it is a place to meet, connect, learn, and explore. To learn more, visit www.epl.org.
