Evanston Police Identify Deceased Female from Hotel Death Investigation

EVANSTON, IL - On December 10, 2022, at approximately 11:16 a.m. Evanston Police and Fire Departments responded to the Holiday Inn located in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue for a possible deceased person in a 6th floor hotel room. Once on scene, officers and paramedics located a deceased female in the room. Evanston Police initiated an investigation into the female's death.

Evanston Police have identified the deceased female, 15 year-old Nyasia Jennings from Chicago. Jennings had been reported as a missing runaway prior to her death. The medical examiner's determination of manner and cause of death are pending toxicology.

The Evanston Police Department continues the investigation and there are no additional updates at this time.
