The City of Evanston's Economic Development Team would like to wish everyone a happy and delicious Thanksgiving!
Check out changes in service delivery and facility hours in recognition of the holiday. Also, be aware that no refuse collections will occur on Thurs., Nov. 24. Thursday's trash, food and yard waste and recycling collections will occur on Fri., Nov. 25.
 Shop small on Saturday, November 26
Get in the gift-giving spirit by supporting local businesses this holiday season! Pick out all of your holiday gifts on Shop Small Saturday, Nov. 26. Check out promotions happening in Downtown Evanston, the Main-Dempster Mile and Central Street.
As an added bonus, through January 2, the City has provided local businesses with 2-hour free parking vouchers to give to customers, encouraging shopping local this holiday season.

 Downtown Evanston Warm Bevvy Walk
Stroll throughout downtown Evanston visiting shops, restaurants, and other businesses offering warm beverages and other treats. Check out holiday shopping specials and finish the night with a cozy meal at a local restaurant. Learn more!
 Downtown Holiday Light Celebration
Bring your families downtown to watch the annual tree lighting with Mayor Biss, Santa and other special visitors on Sat., Dec. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy holiday performances by Evanston Children's Choir, NU Purple Haze and a brass quintet.
 CEBA Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting!
The Central Evanston Business Association (CEBA) is hosting a holiday festival and tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy food and drinks from 5th Ward businesses, a toy give-away, ornament making station, vendors, music from the ETHS choir, and more.
 Celebrate the holidays with Main-Dempster Mile!
The Main-Dempster Mile is inviting neighbors from all over Evanston, Chicago and the North Shore to join them in celebrating the holiday season. While you're there, drink some hot chocolate and do some holiday shopping! Find more information and register here.
 Holiday Market & Creative Reuse Workshops
Head to Art Makers Outpost for their Holiday Markets December 4 and December 18. Also, find creative ways to give sustainably by participating in workshops to make repurposed wreaths, 2D trees, wooden jewelry and more. Make your plans to participate in their workshops and holiday market.
 Holiday Window Decorating Contest!
The citywide window decorating contest is back! This year, the theme is Decorate Sustainably to encourage businesses to re-use old materials, upcycle materials into new designs and get creative in a sustainable way! Learn more about the contest and participate this year!
