Stormwater Master Plan Public Meeting, November 16
The City of Evanston, in coordination with Hey and Associates Inc., will host a public meeting on Wed., Nov. 16, at 6 p.m., in Room 2404 of the Morton Civic Center to give an update on the Stormwater Master Plan project. At the meeting, staff will provide an overview of the project, updates on the current status, and next steps.
Over the past two years, the City has contracted with Hey and Associates to create a hydraulic and hydrologic model to analyze the City’s stormwater system. This model will be used to evaluate the City’s existing stormwater performance as well as the system’s resilience to future conditions. The Stormwater Master Plan is one component of the City’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan.
Participatory Budgeting Idea Collection Assembly, Nov. 22
Participatory Budgeting Evanston is hosting its first official Idea Collection Assembly on Tues., Nov. 22, from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., at the Robert Crown Community Center.
Participatory budgeting is a process where community members can directly decide how to spend $3 million on issues they care about. During the process, community members will submit ideas for how to spend the money, develop ideas into proposals, and vote on how to allocate funds.
At this Idea Collection Assembly, you can submit ideas on how to spend the money and learn how to become a budget delegate who will develop submitted ideas for next summer’s ballot.
There are a limited number of spots for the assembly, so please RSVP by Fri., Nov. 18 to secure your spot.
 Additional Fall Street Cleaning Days
Each year, the Public Works Agency expands residential street cleaning operations during the late fall months to ensure that debris is cleared prior to the winter season. Signage listing the additional fall street cleaning dates will be posted and parking restrictions will be enforced.
Stay informed about street cleaning dates on your block by:
- Checking the parking signs posted at the beginning and end of your block. Orange stickers listing the additional fall street cleaning dates will be temporarily adhered to the existing signage.
- Signing up for convenient text message or email parking notifications at cityofevanston.org/streetcleaning. Residents who have already signed up to receive notifications for their street cleaning zone will receive alerts prior to the additional fall street cleaning days.
