The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Evanston today, Saturday, November 5 until 7 p.m. The strongest winds with gusts of up to 65 miles per hour are expected between daybreak and noon.
What you can do

Secure loose outdoor items. Patio furniture, holiday decorations, sports equipment, trash cans and other items can become dangerous in high winds. Bring these items indoors, if possible, or make sure they're secure if outdoors.

Listen for the emergency sirens. The City’s outdoor emergency sirens will sound in the event of a severe weather emergency. If the sirens sound, seek shelter indoors away from windows and glass.

Evanston public works crews, forestry staff, and first responders are on alert and prepared to respond to any issues that arise.
Evanston 311 will be open from 8 a.m. to noon today, and hours may be extended if needed.
