Ecology Fall Speaker Series: Designing Nature Play Spaces
Did you know? Playing in nature has been found to promote child development through the use of fine and gross motor skills, sensory engagement, stress relief, and inspiration to explore, observe, create, imagine, and process in natural ways. On Thurs., Nov. 17,Sean Shaffer (Nature Play Specialist at the Chicago Park District), will present “Stacking Sticks in Chicago Parks: Why Nature Play is More Important Now Than Ever”. Participants will learn about the purpose of play, the benefits of nature play spaces for child development, and the steps one can take to create nature play spaces in their communities. Evanston Children's Theatre Presents Matilda Jr.

Noyes Spoken Word Open Mic
Bring your poems, lyrics, pieces of memoirs and novels to Word Salad at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center on Fri.,Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to all ages.
Jamming Jean Concert at Levy Senior Center
South Boulevard Band (SBB) is back for an indoor Jamming Jean concert on Fri., Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. SBB has established itself as one of Chicago’s best “feel good” bands. Those who saw them in 2019 at the Levy Center will remember how the band's energetic tunes drove audience members of all ages from their seats to the dance floor. The lively 7-piece horn band has entertained thousands with their eclectic mix of rockin’ soul and old-school R&B sounds.
Hecky's Barbecue will be catering the concert. Grab dinner at this Evanston institution, and enjoy while you bop to the tunes.
