Legal help? Yeah, we do that.
This fall, our Law at the Library series returns with workshops on pressing legal issues taught by experienced attorneys through a partnership with the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Public Library. The next Law at the Library session, Divorce and Parental Rights, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. via Zoom. Register.
Law at the Library is just one of the legal literacy programs the Evanston Public Library offers to create a more just and equitable community. Our law librarian is available by appointment for free 30-minute meetings to talk about your legal issue and connect you to resources that can help.
Get ready for Hispanic Heritage Month!
Hispanic Heritage Month runs Sept. 15-Oct. 15, and the Evanston Public Library is celebrating with programs and activities all month long. Beginning Sept. 15, visit an EPL branch to pick up a punch card of local Hispanic/Latinx owned businesses. Then stop by at least three businesses and make a purchase or ask staff a trivia question. Fill up your punch card and bring it back to the library for a chance to win a $25 gift card to one of the businesses!
And there's way more happening around the library too. Visit epl.org/events or watch your email for full rundown or all our Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.
