EVANSTON, IL - As part of the search for Evanston’s next chief of police, community members are invited to get to know the candidates selected as finalists for the position during a virtual candidate forum held via Zoom on Thursday, September 8 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will be moderated by Sol Anderson, CEO/President of Evanston Community Foundation.
Community members are invited to submit questions for the candidates in advance online through Wednesday, September 7 or by calling or texting 847-448-4311. The forum will be live streamed, recorded and replayed on City Channel 16 and on YouTube.
Finalist Candidates
Migdalia Bulnes, Deputy Chief of Police for the Chicago Police Department
Migdalia Bulnes currently serves as a deputy chief for the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the Street Operations Unit of the Office of the First Deputy Superintendent. This assignment requires Deputy Chief Bulnes to respond to major critical citywide incidents within the City of Chicago. Deputy Chief Bulnes has served the CPD for 24 continuous years, including 11 years as a supervisor in the Bureau of Patrol. Learn more about Deputy Chief Bulnes (.pdf).
Joshua Hunt, Chief of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Investigations Bureau
Joshua T. Hunt has 20 years of law enforcement experience, having served in various patrol, investigative, and administrative positions. Currently, Hunt serves as the chief of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Investigations Bureau. The CCSAOIB includes approximately 110 sworn law enforcement officers who offer vast investigative and logistical support to prosecutors and local municipalities throughout Cook County, Illinois. Schenita Stewart, Deputy Chief of Police for the East Dundee Police Department
Schenita Stewart serves as the Deputy Chief of Police for the Village of East Dundee. Deputy Chief Stewart brings 23 years of law enforcement experience, dedicating much of her career to the Village of Lincolnwood. Deputy Chief Stewart’s experience includes ensuring positive community partnerships, best practice policy implementation, budget development and implementation.
