Evanston Police Investigate September 1 Shooting Incident, Release Photos of the Offender
 EVANSTON, IL - On September 1, 2022, at approximately 4:05 p.m. Evanston Police responded to the 1900 block of Dempster Street for a shooting incident. Several 911 callers reported that a male Black subject, wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, and a mask, was firing a gun at a sliver Honda in McDonald's parking lot. The offender fled on foot. The victim vehicle fled the area as well.
The victim and a witness made contact with 911 dispatch while they were traveling in the silver Honda. The witness and victim stopped in the 1100 block of Lake Street where they were met by paramedics and officers. The victim, a 23 year-old male resident of Evanston, was transported to an area hospital with multiple non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his upper body. He has since been released.
The investigation indicates that this aggravated battery was a targeted attack. There were no additional injuries.
