Enjoy curated art throughout the city!
An example of a painted storm drain in Elgin which inspired Evanston's project. By: Ali Cantarella
The Evanston Fourth of July Association sponsored a public art project this year as a part of their 100 year Anniversary celebration. Artists were asked to submit work within the themes of Community, Diversity or The Fourth of July, to be displayed at parks and intersections throughout Evanston. The idea was inspired by Elgin's storm drain painting project, with the goal of bringing color to unexpected public spaces. Artwork will remain on display through October 1.
Where can I view the art? Artwork is located in James Park, Twiggs Park, Lawson Park, Fitzsimons Park, Emerson Square Park, the corner of Church and Sherman., and the cul-de-sac at Hartrey and Cleveland.
That’s it for today's e-news. Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
