 Reminder: Tonight's City Manager Town Hall
City Council has narrowed the city manager search to a single candidate, Urbana City Administrator Carol Mitten. As part of the final decision process, a City Manager Candidate Town Hall will be held in the Council Chambers of the Morton Civic Center tonight, Thurs., July 28 at 7 p.m.
Questions for the candidate? Questions can be asked live during the event in-person or through Zoom.
Tune in: Community members can attend the meeting in person, join via Zoom, or watch live on City Channel 16 and the City’s YouTube channel.
 Multiple outdoor movies next week!
Movie Night at Ryan Field: Bring your family out for a free showing of Encanto on Thurs., Aug. 4 as part of Northwestern's annual Movie Night at Ryan Field. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the movie starts at 6 p.m.
National Night Out: Take a public stance against crime by attending "National Night Out" on Tues., Aug. 2! Join the Evanston Police Department for a Starlight Movie at Arrington Lakefront Lagoon. Bring your family and friends out to enjoy food trucks, raffles, games and more beginning at 4 p.m. and the movie "Spiderman No Way Home" beginning at 7 p.m.
 Out of Space music fest is back!
Out of Space, presented by the City of Evanston, is right around the corner. In its fifth season, Out of Space will turn the Canal Shores golf course into a concert experience from August 4-7.
Who's playing? This year's lineup includes Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Jenny Lewis, Trampled By Turtles, Lucinda Williams, Waxahatchee, Buddy Guy, Todd Park Mohr and more!

COVID-19 Update
Evanston reported 172 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the last seven days, compared to 186 for the week prior. The current seven-day moving average of daily confirmed cases is 24.57.

Monkeypox Update
To date, Illinois has reported over 200 cases of monkeypox. Stay up-to-date on information by visiting the City's Monkeypox page.
What You Should Know
- Monkeypox is a rare disease caused by infection with the monkeypox virus. The source of the disease remains unknown.
- Monkeypox is spread through close contact with body fluids, sores, shared bedding or clothing, or respiratory droplets.
- In 2022, there have been monkeypox outbreaks in the U.S. and Europe. A number of those outbreaks have been with patients who identify as gay, bisexual, or other men who have sex with men. These outbreaks are currently under investigation.
- Common symptoms include a rash or unusual sores on the face, body, and genitals, fever, chills, head or muscle aches, and swelling of the lymph nodes.
- Avoid close contact with anyone who has a rash or symptoms of monkeypox. Do not handle or touch the bedding, towels, or clothing of a person with monkeypox.
- If you or a recent partner have been exposed (within the last 21 days) or have symptoms, you should see a healthcare provider.
- Those who are eligible for vaccination include those who are: gay bisexual, and other (cis or trans) men who have sex with men; are 18 or older; have had multiple or anonymous sex partners, sex at a social or sexual venue, or sex in exchange for money or goods.

Farmers' Market receives USDA funding
 The Downtown Evanston Farmers’ Market has been awarded an $11,000 USDA Pandemic Response and Safety Grant!
This funding will be used to provide protective health measures including hand washing stations, cleaning supplies, protective equipment, signage, tents, tables, fans, and more.
Thank you to our Parks & Recreation staff for their hard work in securing this grant.
