Early Morning Traffic Crash Leads to Gun Arrest
 EVANSTON, IL - On July 24, 2022, at approximately 4:00 a.m. Evanston Police responded to the 800 block of Dodge Avenue to investigate a traffic crash.
When officers arrived, they discovered that a BMW had struck several unoccupied parked cars. Officers located the owner and driver of the BMW, Tyree Green. Green admitted to being the driver of the BMW. While investigating the crash, one of the officers located a loaded Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun on the rear floorboard behind the driver's seat. Green was then arrested.
Green was uninjured in the crash, but was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. The investigation also revealed that Green did not have a concealed carry license or a FOID Card. The BMW was towed from the scene. Green was issued two traffic citations related to the crash.
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and approved one felony count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Click here for a photograph of the recovered weapon.

Bond and Court Information
Green received a $5000D bond. His next court date is August 15, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at the Skokie Courthouse.
