Heavy Traffic Anticipated In the Area of Green Bay Road and Foster Street On Thursday Morning, May 26
Drivers Encouraged to Avoid the Area and Use Alternate Routes, If Possible
 EVANSTON, IL - The City of Evanston and the Evanston Police Department are notifying Evanston community members of anticipated heavy traffic in the area of Green Bay Road and Foster Street throughout the morning on Thursday, May 26 due to a gas discount event at the Mobil station at 1950 Green Bay Rd.
Drivers who are not planning to participate in the event are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes, if possible. The event begins at 7 a.m. and will last until funding is exhausted.
Information for Drivers
To facilitate traffic flow, the Evanston Police Department will implement a number of traffic control measures in the area, including:

Left turns are restricted from northbound Green Bay onto Asbury and into the gas station parking lot.

Northbound vehicles will be permitted to turn left onto Foster and can enter the gas station from there.
- In the event of overflow traffic into the gas station, stopping and waiting on Green Bay Road will not be permitted.
