 EVANSTON, IL - Evanston's 2022 Starlight Concert Series will feature nine free outdoor concerts at park locations throughout the city, June 7 through August 9.
Community members will enjoy a wide range of talented artists and musical genres, from jazz, to classic soul, to Southern rock and blues. The concert schedule is available at cityofevanston.org/starlight.
Starlight concerts will take place on Tuesdays, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be cancelled. The decision to cancel will be made by 4:30 p.m. on the show date. Residents can learn about a cancellation by calling 847-448-4311 (until 6 p.m.) or by visiting cityofevanston.org/starlight.
The July 19 Starlight Concert at Elks Park will include a Food Truck Festival, with trucks featuring a variety of food and dessert options on site beginning at 5:30 p.m. Food vendors will also be available at many of the other Starlight Concerts.
In addition to the Starlight Concert series on Tuesday nights, a special Juneteenth celebration including a concert by Funkadesi and Donovan Mixon and dance performance by Najwa Dance Corps., will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ingraham Park. Art vendors, food trucks, and family activities will be available.
The Starlight Concert Series is presented by the City's Parks and Recreation Department and is sponsored by Evanston In-School Music Association and Baker Demonstration.
