Evanston Police Department Deputy Chief Completes Executive Training
EVANSTON, IL - On April 8, 2022 Deputy Chief Jody Wright completed a three week executive training, “Police Executive Role in the 21st Century” also known as PERC21C. This comprehensive 100 hour program is offered by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Executive Institute, and is designed to enhance senior law enforcement leaders’ strategic leadership knowledge, skills and abilities.
Over the course of the three weeks participants focused on several notable topics including:
- Executive Decision Making
- Strategic Planning
- Succession Planning
- Recruitment and Retention
- Managing Diversity and Inclusion
- Organizational Accountability
In addition to class lectures, textbook readings and writing assignments, PER21C affords participants the opportunity to network with law enforcement executives from other agencies. Participants in the program were challenged regularly to think strategically, and with vision to help guide their organization to the next level and gain useful tools to address the needs of the community they serve.
