The Levy Senior Center is planning a long distance trip to the wild west and Yellowstone area. To learn more about this exciting trip, attend an information meeting on Thursday, April 28 at 11 a.m. To register for the meeting, please call the Levy Senior Center at 847-448-8250. Science with Seniors now in-person and virtual!
Each month, graduate students from Northwestern University visit the Levy Senior Center to discuss different science topics. We will be discussing the topics of the Gut Microbiome and Organ Regeneration on Thurs., April 14 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. New this month, our presenters will be joining us in-person and on Zoom. No registration required. Join the seminar virtually.
Movers and Shakers-Parkinson's Support Group
Join this group at the Levy Senior Center for a meeting about Parkinson’s. The purpose of Movers and Shakers, is to provide residents with Parkinson's a forum to share information, discuss research, develop awareness, and to support each other. The group will meet on Thursday, April 14 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. All are welcome, no registration required. If you can't meet for the in-person group but are interested in learning more, please call Amy Kellogg at 847-448-8251.
Congregate Meal Program is open for in-person dining
The Levy Senior Center is serving hot meals Monday through Friday and 5-pack frozen meals on Tuesdays. Apply online to join the Senior Congregate Meal Program. To learn more, call the Levy Senior Center front desk at 847-448-8250.
 The Levy Lecture Series is a free program featuring top lecturers, authors and entertainers for residents 55 and over, who are passionate about learning. Lectures are bi-monthly via Zoom on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Register and you will receive an email with easy-to-follow steps. Sponsored by the Levy Senior Center Foundation.

 Levy Senior Center Gardens
The Levy Senior Center Foundation (LSCF) is excited to introduce a new learning volunteer opportunity at the Levy Senior Center that will appeal to those who are experienced or interested in "growing" their vegetable garden knowledge. With help from the Garden Club of Evanston, LSCF will be planting and caring for eight raised and elevated vegetable gardens. Work will include setting plants, seeding, staking, weeding, watering and harvesting. Plus, there will be plenty of good garden conversation!
To join the fun or for more information, email the LSCF at contact@lscfevanston.org. All volunteers must complete and sign a City of Evanston volunteer waiver.
Levy Longevity Series is back with heart health!
Don’t miss a beat! Join us on Wednesday, April 27 for Matters of the Heart with Arjun Mehta, MD. Dr. Mehta will discuss the key components to maintaining a healthy heart and cardiovascular system. This webinar will include prevention, risk factors, warning signs, as well as the potential for reversing heart disease. Register and you will receive an email with easy-to-follow steps. April is volunteer appreciation month
The Levy Senior Center is proud and thankful for its many volunteers who dedicate their time to be stewards and leaders of our community through volunteerism. Thank you to all the volunteers who make a positive difference in our community by donating their time and talents.
Today, we highlight Pat Ulmer, who volunteered as an AARP income tax-aide. Pat was instrumental in leading the Levy Senior Center's tax-aide program this year. Pat and her team of eight volunteers prepared and filed over 278 tax returns. Thank you Pat and all of our AARP tax-aide volunteers!
