Design a painting & bring it back to create community art!
We hope to bring the focus to Black joy, hope, beauty, and love this month, and we invite you to do the same with our take-home painting kits. Paint whatever helps you feel inspired!
If you'd also like to participate in a community art project, feel free to bring your finished piece back to the Teen Loft, Main Library, and it will be installed in the final piece.
Each kit includes: a canvas panel, various acrylic paint colors, two small brushes, a sponge brush, a paper plate and popsicle stick for paint mixing. One kit per teen. Grades 6-12.
Watch movies, eat popcorn!
Stop by the Main Library or the Robert Crown Library Branch to grab a movie, some popcorn and some fun during Black History Month. All Ages!
In celebration of Black History Month stop by any EPL location to take part in some activities you can do at home or join in virtually at the end of the month. First, we'll have Black movies out on display complete with popcorn, discussion questions and suggestions for what to watch next (while supplies last). So your next movie night with your friends or family is planned!
Movie buckets can be found at the Main Library, at the Early Literacy and Learning desk, the Lifelong Literacy, and Learning Desk and in the Loft. Buckets can also be found at the public service desk at the Robert Crown Branch Library.
