Dear Fifth Ward Family,
I hope everyone had an amazing and joyful holiday season. As you know, Evanston is in the midst of a City Manager selection process. I’m encouraging everyone to learn more about the two finalists.
In addition, I'd like to formally invite you to our virtual 5th Ward Meeting on Thursday, January 27, at 7 p.m. via Google Meet.

A few of the topics for discussion:
-
Introducing the new leadership at Family Focus (Dara Munson, President and CEO and Vanessa Allen-Graves, Center Director)

7 capital improvement projects to watch in 2022
With a new year upon us, the City is preparing for some big capital improvement projects throughout Evanston. From water main rehabilitation to road repairs to sidewalks, you can look forward to improvements to safety and accessibility. Check out these seven capital improvement projects to keep your eye on this year.
Last chance to recycle holiday trees and lights
Taking down your decorations a little late this year? No worries, there's still time to recycle your Christmas tree. City crews will pick up trees on residents' normal refuse pickup day through January 28. Trees should be placed on the parkway, between the street and the sidewalk.
Holiday string lights: Recycle your burnt out bulbs through January 31. Lights can be dropped off at the Evanston Ecology Center, Levy Senior Center, and Robert Crown Community Center.
It's time to start thinking about summer camps
It's only January, but it's already time to start thinking about summer camps! Online registration for residents will begin on Sat., Feb. 12. Visit cityofevanston.org/summercamps to view this year's Summer Camp Guide.
