Local Evanston businesses need your support!
January is a notoriously challenging month for small and local businesses. Between the cold weather, post-holiday blues, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it's more important than ever to continue supporting the local businesses that make Evanston lively and unique.

Summer camp registration is coming up!
It's only January, but it's already time to start thinking about summer camps! The 2022 Summer Camp Guide is now available.
Register: Evanston residents can register online on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Last chance to recycle holiday trees and lights
Taking down your decorations a little late this year? No worries, there's still time to recycle your Christmas tree. City crews will pick up trees on residents' normal refuse pickup day through January 28. Trees should be placed on the parkway, between the street and the sidewalk.
Holiday string lights: Recycle your burnt out bulbs through January 31. Lights can be dropped off at the Evanston Ecology Center, Levy Senior Center, and Robert Crown Community Center.

A new 'Resolved' mural by Ben Blount
More than 100 Evanston residents gathered on MLK Jr. Day for the unveiling and celebratory ribbon cutting of “Resolved,” a mural at 600 Washington St. created by artist Ben Blount. Attendees included Mayor Biss, 9th Ward Councilmember Cicely Fleming, and Dr. Larry Murphy.
The mural was inspired by the 2019 resolution (.pdf) adopted by the City Council committing the City to ending structural racism and achieving racial equity.
