City of Evanston Reaches Final MOU on Staff Vaccine Policy with FOP Sergeants Union
EVANSTON, IL - The City of Evanston is pleased to announce that it has secured a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Sergeants employee union regarding the City’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. The MOU follows earlier agreements with the City’s FOP Patrol, IAFF and AFSCME unions, and represents the final agreement related to the vaccination policy between the City and employee unions representing City staff.
“Our entire City staff team has served and supported our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, providing critical services and keeping our community safe,” said Mayor Daniel Biss. “I’m grateful to the FOP Sergeants union and all City employee unions for approaching these discussions with the same dedication, professionalism and commitment to public safety reflected in their daily work.”
“I greatly appreciate all of our employee unions for coming to the table to discuss this issue and ultimately taking action to make our community healthier and safer,” said Interim City Manager Kelley Gandurski. “Thank you also to the City’s Health & Human Services Department, Law Department and Human Resources Division for facilitating these important agreements.”
