Guest speaker Ed Yohnka visits the Levy Senior Center on November 1
Edwin C. Yohnka is the Director of Communications and Public Policy for the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois. Appointed to the post of Director of Communications in June 1999, Yohnka is the primary spokesperson for the most prominent civil rights and civil liberties’ advocacy organization in the State of Illinois, an organization with more than 72,000 members and supporters.

Levy Café
The Levy Senior Center is serving hot meals Monday through Friday and 5-pack frozen meals on Tuesdays. Apply online to join the Senior Congregate Meal Program. To learn more, call the Levy Senior Center front desk at 847-448-8250.
 The Levy Lecture Series is a free program featuring top lecturers, authors and entertainers for residents 55 and over, who are passionate about learning. Lectures are bi-monthly via Zoom on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Register and you will receive an email with easy-to-follow steps. Sponsored by the Levy Senior Center Foundation.

Snow Shoveling Assistance Program
The City of Evanston is once again offering its Snow Shoveling Program this winter to connect older adult residents and persons with disabilities with volunteers who are offering snow shoveling services. Older adults or persons with disabilities can register for the program by completing the online request form or calling/texting 847-448-4311.

Levy Senior Center Foundation Photo Contest
Can we be candid? It’s time again for Levy Senior Center Foundation photo contest. We are asking Levy Senior Center community members to share their favorite photos from 2021 and yes, there will be prizes. Learn more.
Ride the Levy Bus
The Levy Senior Center bus begins its route on the north end of Evanston at 9 a.m. working it’s way to the south end. Drop-off at the Levy Senior Center is approximately at 10:15 a.m. The first return route leaves the Levy Senior Center at 12:30 p.m. The second and final return route leaves the Levy Senior Center at 3:30 p.m.
Grocery shopping is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning at 11:15 a.m. On Tuesdays, the bus will drop-off at the Dempster Street Plaza. On Wednesdays the bus will drop-off at Aldi, Sam’s Club, Food for Less, Jewel, and Target. The bus will come pick-up shoppers at the end of the shopping trip and drive shoppers home. This service is provided to adults and seniors age 55 and over.
