The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be contracting road resurfacing work on Dempster Street from Ridge Avenue to Chicago Avenue beginning the week of August 23 and ending in early October.
This project involves replacing curbs as needed, installing accessible ADA ramps at intersections, repairing roadway base and replacing asphalt surface from curb to curb along with the roadway striping. Funding for this project will come from the Illinois Department of Transportation Funds.
Construction work will be intermittent and the actual date when construction is planned on Dempster Street will be noted on the temporary "No Parking" signs posted 48 hours prior to the start of work. The construction activities will create some inconveniences for abutting residents, but attempts will be made to minimize them. Construction zone daytime "No Parking" restrictions will be intermittent throughout the duration of the project. Evening and night parking, from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., will always be available.
Contractor The contractor for this street improvement project is Chicagoland Paving, located at 225 Telser Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
City Monitoring The project is under the supervision of IDOT. The resident engineer in the field will be Anthony Lee, who will be directly responsible for all aspects of construction. Contact 847-508-2573 with questions or concerns. Questions about the project in general should be directed to Sat Nagar, P.E., Senior Project Manager at 3-1-1 or 847-448-4311.
