Happy Culinary Arts Month! July is a great time to celebrate good food, talented chefs, and local restaurants.
Your child can be a chef with Evanston Public Library's cookbook section for kids, including the favorite, Pretend Soup by Molly Katzen. Our Kids' Tasty Books booklist can provide inspiration!
Get inspired by the summer reading theme, Reading Colors Your World, to make some rainbow food! Watch this fun Rainbow Food video we made with all the instructions!

National Forest Week, celebrating our National Forests, is July 12-18! To get into the spirit of loving trees and their communities, start with our new Trees and Forests booklist! The most recent books have the explosion of new research on trees (The Wood Wide Web!), tailored for young people.

Join us for some great experiences in the parks this summer Monday to Thursday all summer long, weather permitting! You can register for summer reading, pick up a book, or grab a STEM or Craft kit. Our schedule is:

Collective Art Project during On the Fly! Come on any of 3 different days to contribute to an evolving art piece created by our community. Drumming Circles at Robert Crown. Join drummers of all skill levels for a series of socially distant drum circles. Colors Scavenger Hunt: Come pick up a scavenger hunt guide, created in honor of Reading Colors Your World, our Summer Reading program. In this self-guided color walk, children will go on a scavenger hunt to try to find items in every color around them. EPL At the Parks: All Star Weekend! Think you're good at basketball? Come join Powerhouse Gym and the Library for a friendly, socially distanced basketball hoop competition to win beach tokens!
