The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be contracting road resurfacing work on Church Street from Gross Point Road in Skokie to Dodge Avenue in Evanston beginning the week of May 3. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September.
The limits of work on Church Street in the City of Evanston include the bridge over North Shore Channel to Dodge Avenue. This project involves replacing curbs as needed, installing accessible ADA ramps at intersections, roadway base repair and replacement of asphalt surface from curb to curb along with the roadway striping.
The actual date when construction is planned on Church Street will be noted on the temporary "No Parking" signs posted 48 hours prior to the start of work. The construction activities will create some inconvenience for abutting residents, but attempts will be made to minimize inconveniences. Construction zone daytime "No Parking" restrictions will be intermittent throughout the duration of the project; evening and nighttime parking from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. will always be available.
Contractor The contractor for this project is Builders Paving LLC, 4413 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162.
City Monitoring The project is under the supervision of IDOT. The resident engineer in the field will be Anthony Lee who will be directly responsible for all aspects of construction. For questions or concerns, please contact Anthony at 847-508-2573. Questions about the Church Street Resurfacing Project in general should be directed to Sat Nagar, P.E., Senior Project Manager at 3-1-1 or 847-448-4311.
